Accurate Research, Rigorous Testing

“Feedback is the breakfast of champions.” -Ken Blanchard, Leadership and Management Expert

The goal of the Road of Life program is to create a flexible curriculum that provides educators with the tools they need to make their classroom a successful learning environment. Road of Life is dedicated, not only to the long-term effectiveness of the program on the students, but also the continuous improvement of the curricula based on the needs of the educators involved.

How We Test and Evaluate

Road of Life (ROL) uses both outcome evaluation and process evaluation methodologies to determine each program’s effectiveness.

1.) Outcome Evaluations – Students

Children involved with the program complete pre- and post- tests that educators send to ROL for data collection. The pre- and post- tests are identical, with 70 questions based on knowledge, belief, and behavior. Children take the pre-test before learning any Road of Life curriculum and then retake the same test as the post-test after learning the curriculum. After the program is complete, educators send these tests to ROL for evaluation. This data is then entered into an Excel spreadsheet and sent to a third party for analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of each program.

2.) Process Evaluations – Educators

Road of Life also has a process evaluation in which teachers and other professionals provide ratings and suggestions for each program. This process evaluation is located on the below on the ROL website, and provides space to leave comments and suggestions about each individual lesson. These comments and suggestions are carefully considered for future versions of the curricula.
