Road of Life was recently featured in The Ohio State University College
of Public Health 2006 - 2007 Annual
Report Magazine. The article featured three Masters of Public Health (MPH)
students who completed their field experiences, or practicum's, with ROL over
the summer. A practicum is a required part of the MPH curriculum and includes a
minimum of 120 hours of on-site work experience.
OSU's College of Public Health exists for the improvement of the health
of the public through the creation, dissemination, and application of
knowledge. This program prepares students for the challenges of leadership and
service in public health and related professions, adds to knowledge through
basic and applied research, and serves the tradition of land-grant
universities. The purpose of the Annual Report is to make a difference in the
health of the public by advancing knowledge through multidisciplinary research
and education and by reaching out with knowledge, service, and leadership to
Ohio and the world.
ROL highly values our relationship with the College of Public Health and has
continuously been able to work with students of the highest caliber. Keeley
Zakrzewski, Sarah Krygowski, and Michika Nickerson were exemplary volunteers.
Their work included writing ROL's Family Program, designed to bring families
together to talk about health, and the upcoming Health Careers Program, which
encourages children in minorities to pursue careers in the health care
profession.
Road of Life would like to thank the College of Public Health for including us
in their annual report. We would also like to thank our MPH students for all
their hard work.
