Sarah Mase volunteered at Road of Life from January-March 2007. Mase
recently finished her coursework at The Ohio State University in the
form of a writing internship at Road of Life. Mase chose Road of Life
for her internship because she felt a personal connection to the
organization, "Road of Life's mission aligns with my personal health
beliefs and life experiences."
This multi-talented young adult first encountered Road of Life three
years ago at Community Festival, donating to the organization in
exchange for free juice. "It was a great trade, and down the road, it
led to a great interning experience", said Mase.
Sarah spent her time at Road of Life writing the justification for Road
of Life programming. She researched the needs for Road of Life's
programs and the results of similar programs. She then used that
information to support the mission statement of the organization.
After successful completion of her internship at Road of Life in March,
Sarah graduated with a BA in Spanish, a BA in Anthropology, and double
minors in Professional Writing and Integrative Approaches to Health and
Wellness.
In the past Mase has also volunteered with the Capital Area Humane
Society and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. In her free time she enjoys
skating with the Ohio Roller Girls, and cooking vegetarian food. Mase
enjoyed volunteering with the organization so much that she has
accepted a position at the organization as an AmeriCorps*VISTA and will
begin in July of 2007.
