Road of Life Selected for University of Maryland & Grassroots.org Mentor Program
COLLEGE PARK, MD - February 25, 2007 – Road of Life: Cancer Prevention
for Kids was chosen as one of three nonprofit organizations to receive
consulting services from the Grassroots.org partnership with the
University of Maryland’s Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship.
The Dingman Center is a part of the University Of Maryland Smith School
Of Business. The Center partnered with Grassroots.org to provide
grassroots.org member organizations the opportunity to receive expert
guidance from the Dingman Center and Smith MBA students during the
spring of 2007.
The project will take place over 3 months. MBA students will consult
with the Road of Life management team to write a business plan for ROL
programs and services. This project provides a critical resource to
Road of Life, helping to guide the organizational future. It will
increase the impact of the organization by increasing the number of
children who are able to receive critical health information.
"This project will create a plan for Road of Life to generate earned
income. This is a keystone in our efforts to become sustainable," said
Executive Director Shane Hankins.
