COLUMBUS, OHIO -
January 31, 2007 - Road of Life: Cancer Prevention for Kids has announced their
plan to reach over 10,000 children in 2007. The organization hopes to accomplish
this goal in part through a $450,000 individual giving campaign for 2007. The
organization will use the substantial major gifts from this large-scale campaign
to provide effective health education to 400 learning environments including
classrooms, after-school programs and camps.
Rob Emrich, the founder of the organization, is now focused on implementing this
giving campaign, which will bring in considerable new resources. "The
organization has reached a point that we can really begin to take an excellent
program and begin to focus on scaling it. I am so excited to have conversations
that begin with 'how many children do you want to impact' today. I think this
campaign combined with the leverage of our anticipated and committed new grants
and the AmeriCorps VISTA program has put us in a position to truly affect the
next generation of children." Along with Emrich, board members Jamie Cole and
Nick Fellers will serve as chairs for the campaign.
There are four
levels of major gifts for the 2007 campaign.
Benefactor $50,000
Angel
$10,000
Visionary $5,000
Leadership Society $1,125.
The
approximate cost for a donor to help implement Road of Life’s curriculum into a
classroom is $1,125 which corresponds to our leadership society level. The
$450,000 will be a significant part of the organization’s targeted $1.12 million
budget for 2007.
