About Us

The Keren Emrich Foundation

The Keren Emrich Foundation was founded in June of 2002 in memory of Keren Rebecca Emrich. The foundation has one purpose: supporting its signature program, Road of Life, a cancer prevention program for children.

She would follow her brothers, Rob and Michael, with her eyes; in awe, in wonderment, curiosity, and most of all total love. Keren was a toddler who loved life. She embraced life with her whole being - laughing, playing and hugging.

Keren lived with us for only 34 months. She was our baby, our joy and our love. In hindsight, we believe she was an old soul, put on this earth to teach many lessons. Everyday her absence and our memories of her presence remind us of the value and essence of life - to love with all our hearts, to cherish each other with respect and dignity, and to be grateful.

Gries (a descendant of philanthropist NATHAN DAUBY†), has supported HIGHER EDUCATION, EDUCATION, cultural programs such as the performing arts, and HOSPITALS & HEALTH PLANNING, primarily in Cleveland. It has concentrated on charities of interest to the trustees.
