ROL and The Ohio Roller Girls are teaming up to educate children on the importance of being healthy. The Ohio Roller Girls (OHRG) is the first and finest all female flat-track roller derby league in Ohio. Started in April 2005, the Ohio Roller Girls are members of the Women's Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA). Roller derby is the fastest growing organized sport in America, and the Ohio Roller Girls are committed to advancing the recognition of women's flat track roller derby on a local and national level by facilitating the development of athletic ability, sportswomanship and goodwill among their members and with the members of other flat track roller derby leagues. The league is dedicated to being an important part of Columbus via active participation in events, activities, and community involvement.

Over eighty league members, consisting of skaters, coaches, referees, statisticians, and volunteers, dedicate their time and energy to OHRG. Sarah Mase, Director of Grants for Road of Life, plays on the Sprockettes. She also serves as co-captain and team representative, and skates on the league's All Star Travel Team. Skaters practice from two to five times per week at local skating rinks, in addition to cross training on their own time. Monthly home games, called "bouts," are held March through July in the Lausche Building at the Ohio Expo Center (717 E. 17th Ave). Come see the Season Championships on July 6th! ROL will have a booth at the bout so come say Hi and learn more about health.
