Road of Life is excited to announce the release of its newest addition, the Middle School Program! The Middle School Program consists of lessons and activities geared towards students in grades 6-8. Like the Classroom Curriculum, the Middle School Program incorporates general health, fitness, nutrition, and tobacco use prevention. Each lesson is aligned to the National Health Education Standards as well as the Ohio Benchmarks and Indicators. The Middle School Program has 25 hands-on lessons with numerous activities including role-playing, creative writing, exercise tips, journaling, and media influence awareness. The Middle School Program was written by Fatima Garuba, a medical student at The Ohio State University and a former Teach for America teacher. The Middle School Program was extensively reviewed by ROL's Curriculum Advisory Committee, comprised of educators, and the Scientific Advisory Committee, comprised of doctors, dieticians, and other health care professionals. The Middle School Program will soon be available free for download at www.roadoflife.org. |
