New Curriculum Advisory Committee to Evaluate Health Content PDF Print E-mail

Committee will help to ensure the quality of the organization’s health programming

COLUMBUS, OHIO, December 4, 2006 -Road of Life is pleased to have several education professionals join its curriculum advisory committee.  Recently, numerous elementary, middle and high school teachers agreed to review and evaluate Road of Life’s health curriculum.
The educators that make up Road of Life’s advisory committee have expertise in a variety of academic areas, including: elementary education, math, language arts, health, physical education, and wellness.  Road of Life’s programming staff is looking forward to having teachers from a wide range of disciplines evaluate the organization’s elementary health education curriculum, as it constantly improves its health education content.

The advisory committee will assist Road of Life in its efforts to enhance the quality of its elementary health curriculum through the organization’s website, www.roadoflife.org.

Members of the committee are able to download, review and evaluate lessons from Road of Life’s curriculum through the site.  According to Ann Lewicki, Director of Education and Prevention at Road of Life, committee members are able to evaluate the organization, content, age appropriateness of lessons.  In addition, they can comment upon how well lessons meet the State Academic Content Standards.

“We are extremely grateful for the advisory committee’s time.  Without their contributions, we would not be able to ensure our curriculum’s effectiveness,” says Lewicki.
 
New advisory committee members include: Mandy Berlin, M.Ed; Jamie Cole; Carol Falk; Jeffrey Ferezan, MBA; Mike Gross; Jenna Heuring; Ryan Jolley; Kate Lewicki, M.Ed; Rob Lucas, M.Ed; Anne Rodgers; Beth Shapiro, M.Ed; Brad Todd; and Matt Youngner.
